Movie Night 166

Quasi-provocative question: "Slick or Slimy?"

A Feature: Unagi (US Title: Eel)
B Feature: After Dark

Notes:
  1. This tongue-in-cheek exchange was reported to take place after the A feature (the humble Keeper of the Count, who was not present for the proceedings, begs to differ):

Jen: So Tonya, what's your professional diagnosis? (regarding the main character in the film)
Tonya: (matter of factly without a moments hesitation) Retarded.

Movie Night 165

Quasi-provocative question: "The Navigator, a Modern Odyssey" or "Jandek of Science"?

A Feature: Primer
Intermission: Liz and Danny's Grain Belt Premium commerical
B Feature: Camille 2000

Notes:

  1. The weird Primer logo is for erbp, which I think is the production company, not that you can tell that from the trance-inducing website
  2. "The primo with the blue label/Has earned its spot on my workout table"
  3. Camille 2000 is from the good people who brought us "Lickerish Quartet". During it, the dictator was heard to sigh mornfully into his hands, "it was supposed to be porn."
  4. The actual date of movie night was 8/13/05

Movie Night 164

Quasi-provocative question: Ghost Writer or Roast Guider?

A Feature: Morvern Callar
B Feature: Jandek on Corwood

Notes:
  1. Davin is Minion
  2. Minion forgets question
  3. For all you who can't get enough Jandek this site has lots of info. Oddly enough, given how repetive the film was at times there is information related to Jandek not included in the film (like the name "Sterling R. Smith" which is appears in a review of the first Jandek/The Units album)
