Movie Night 170

Quasi-Provacative Question: "Dull truth or opaque cliche"
Date: 9/25/05

A Feature: Arven (US Title: The Inheritance)
B Feature: Heftig og begeistret (US Title: Cool and Crazy)

Notes:
  1. The dictator unfurls a new strategy, apologizing for the "boring" A feature in advance, lowing our expectations for the (actually quite good, IMHO) film

Movie Night 169

Quasi-provacative question: "Octane or Fumes?"
Date: 9/18/05

A Feature: Kwik Stop
B Feature: The Naked Kiss

Notes:
  1. Evan: "Octane or Fumes? I thought he was going to say Octane or Achtung!"
  2. Naked Kiss was supposed to be the B feature at 168

Movie Night 168

Quasi-provocative question: "Acorns or nuts?"

A Feature: La Arilla Roja (The Red Squirrel)
B Feature: The Naked Prey

Notes:
  1. Quote of the evening for The Red Squirrel "What is wrong with this campsite?" - Jenny
  2. The Naked Prey was a result of a dictator/movie store mix-up, although what a fine B feature it was. Stuff from imdb: the running guy was the director, and it was nominated for a "Best Writing, Story and Screenplay" Oscar. (editor's note - screenplay oscar? wtf? one of the things that made it cool was there was so little english in it and everything else was a chase)

Movie Night 167

Quasi-provocative question: "Fine wine or sour grapes?"

A Feature: Manon des sources (Manon of the Spring)
B Feature: Spaceways

Notes:
  1. Kid Night! Manon... was the sequel to Jean de Florette, the A feature of the last Kid Night (163)
  2. Dr Sample speaks "167" with a French accent and a Memphis accent
